The Fire District does not dispose of flammable or other hazardous materials. You may check out the Monroe County ecopark.

Loaning Medical Equipment

Does the Fire District loan out medical equipment such as wheelchairs or crutches?

No, The Fire District does not loan out equipment.

Smoke & CO Detectors

When should I replace my smoke or CO detector?

Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are an important part of protecting your family. Make sure yours are working properly and replaced when necessary.

🚨 Smoke Detectors

Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years.
Detectors with standard replaceable batteries should have their batteries changed every 6 months.
Detectors with a 10-year lithium battery should be replaced when they begin chirping to indicate the battery is low, or at the 10-year mark, whichever comes first.
⚠️ Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors

CO detectors should generally be replaced every 5–7 years.
Standard batteries should be changed every 6 months.
Some newer CO detectors have 10-year lithium batteries. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations for replacement.
