Special Election: September 17 Bond Vote

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
NORTH GREECE FIRE DISTRICT, IN THE
TOWNS OF GREECE AND PARMA,
MONROE COUNTY, NEW YORK

SEPTEMBER 17, 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the resolution duly adopted on August 13, 2024 by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the North Greece Fire District, in the Towns of Greece and Parma, Monroe County, New York, a Special Election of the qualified voters of said Fire District, will be held on September 17, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. (Prevailing Time) and the polls shall remain open until 9:00 P.M. (Prevailing Time) or as much longer as may be necessary to enable the voters then present to cast their votes. The voting shall be at the North Greece Fire House Station 2, 1766 Latta Road, Rochester, New York 14612. The election tellers will review the voting rolls on August 28th.

The voting shall be upon the following Proposition:

PROPOSITION

SHALL the bond resolution of North Greece Fire District, in the Towns of Greece and Parma, New York, entitled: “BOND RESOLUTION OF THE NORTH GREECE FIRE DISTRICT, IN THE TOWNS OF GREECE AND PARMA, MONROE COUNTY, NEW YORK, ADOPTED AUGUST 13, 2024, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS IN A PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $13,800,000 TO FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW FIREHOUSE ON LAND TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE FIRE DISTRICT ON ENGLISH ROAD; STATING THE ESTIMATED MAXIMUM COST THEREOF IS $13,800,000; APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT FOR SUCH PURPOSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF SAID BONDS AND THE INTEREST THEREON AS THE SAME BECOME DUE AND PAYABLE,” be approved?

All residents of the Fire District who were duly registered with the Monroe County Board of Elections, or who have otherwise registered as eligible registered Fire District voters, and who have resided in the Fire District for a period of at least 23 days immediately preceding the date of the Special Election, shall be eligible to vote at said Special Election.
